The UFL is a professional football league that will be in competition with the NFL. The league will include team in cities like Las Vegas, Los Angeles and New Mexico. The league plans to have games in the UK as well. The league will consist of 8 teams that will have teams owned by investment bank founder Bill Hambrecht and Google exec Tim Armstrong. Games will be played on Friday and Saturday nights.
Personally I think that these guys can do much better things with their money. Trying to challenge the NFL is the most stupid thing to think of. Right now, it is the off-season in football and every night on ESPN (The worlds wide leader in sports) There is time dedicated to NFL training camps, upcoming fantasy football drafts, rookie signings, off season moves. Not to mention during the fall there is something in this country that no other country has and the is college sports. College football, basketball and etc. Plus in the fall season there is MLB playoffs and NBA basketball. Challenging the NFL is not smart...not only are you in competition with the NFL, you are competing with all the other sports. I know for myself I am not going to stop watching the other sports that I love for another football league.
I was listening to a sports radiio show one day speaking of this topic and they mentioned creating another hockey league. The NHL is in trouble right now. The NHL has too many teams, they have teams in markets where the cities care nothing about hockey, and they have changed the rules making hockey not even fun to watch for the average fan. What if Mark Cuban put together a league that can rival with the NHL. Put hockey in cities like Cleveland, Cincinnatti, Grand Rapids, Ottawa, Oregon and other cities that need it. If they have only 10-14 teams. I think that would work

Upcoming Sports Dates

JUNE 20- NBA MOCK DRAFT
JULY 6- NFL FANTASY RATING
AUGUST 1- NFL MOCK FANTASY
AUGUST 8- NLB POWER RANKING
AUGUST 15- NFL PRESEASON PREDICTIONS
- COLLEGE FOOTBALL PRESEASON PREDICTIONS
- MLB POWER RANKINGS
AUGUST 22- HIGH SCHOOL RECRUITING TRAIL
AUGUST 31- NFL FANTASY DRAFT

What will the 2007-2008 Pistons look like?

You can argue that there was a game 6 sweep in the Eastern conference finals this year with the Cleveland Cavs advancing to the NBA finals over the Detroit Pistons this weekend. In my mind, the 5 yr dynasty may have came to an end and there may need to be some changes int he Piston organization if they want to continue having success. Look at this team for the coming year, Chris Webber has talked retirement or playing for someone else. It is evident Nozar Mohammad no longer wants to be on the team and also evident this organization has no faith in him, because they brought in a replacement for him by signing Chris Webber. Jason Maxiel is not a starter nor a player who can consistently give you good performances night end and night out. Antonio McDyess may be getting an extension, but what do you do with Rasheed Wallace? Look at Saturday night's game against Cleveland... I think Rasheed lost the respect of his teammates when he went on a tirade and was ejected from the game, like he did while playing in Portland.I believe Wallace may have worn out his welcome in Detroit and he may have played his last game as a Piston.
So looking at Detroit's front court, what do you have? Let's just say Chauncy Billups returns to the team being he is a free agent now, the Pistons still are without a center or power forward. So what do they do? Nozar Mohammand is a serviceable center and someone will take on that contract paying $31 million over the next four years. Nozar is due to make $5,632,000 next season.
But what will you do with Rasheed Wallace? What will you do in the draft? Who will you bring in during free agency. Rasheed is 32 yrs old and 2 yrs remaining on whats left of his $26 million contract. Amir Johnson will have a role on this team but what is Amir Johnson, if Kobe Bryant still wants out of L.A. Do you make an attempt for him? Isaiah Thomas coach and General Manager of the New York Knicks convicts Wallace. Do you give him a call or what ables trading Wallace back to Portland for Zach Randolph.
With the emerging of LeBron James who is now in the NBA finals,Dwayne Wade who is a NBA Champion, Chris Bosh and Andrea Bargnani coming of age not to mention the Chicago Bulls, the Eastern Conference will be stronger next year. Will the Pistons continue to compete or will this be the start of a rebuilding process?

It's over!!!!!

After last night's dominant performance over the Chicago Bulls, the Detroit Pistons takes a 2-0 game lead in the series. Ben Gordon and Luol Deng who combined for an average of 54 points against the Miami Heat in the first round series only have combined for a total of 37 points in two games against the Pistons. I believe that this series will be over in 5 games and while the Pistons are at home relaxing, watching the Cavs and Nets beat the hell out of each other, they should be well rested for the Eastern Conference Finals. I predict that Cleveland and New Jersey will take their series to distance. (7 games) As for the Jazz and Warriors, I believe the Jazz will win the series in 6 games. But Drew Staton, Ikaika Alama-Francis, Gerald Alexander, Johnny Baldwin and Ramzee Robinson are all players that need to develop. When you have the second worse record in the league. You need players that can make an immediate impact. Although I thinkManuel Ramierz will be a good NFL player (the 4th round selection) The offensive line needed to be addressed. Along with defensive back and the linebacker position, drafting a linebacker in the 6th round was not smart when Paul Posluszny (linebacker from Penn State) and David Harris (LB from Michigan) were available in the second round. Players that could have filled a huge hole on this team and trade back to draft Drew Staton, a quarterback that will not play for at least two years. Not to mention they trade themselves out of the third round, to come back in the second round, to draft guys who are not only protected 3rd and 4th round picks. The draft guys that will be back up players. This team is no better on the defensive side of the ball and they ahd the #2 pick. To not address the defense at all, to not get better and give yourself better chances to win football games.....the Lions get a "D"as their draft. The only good thing I can say about them is they did not get the worst draft grade.

Draft Grades

Arizona Cardinals-B
Levi Brown
Alan Branch
Steve Breaston
Ben Patrick

Atlanta Falcolns-B+
Jamal Anderson
Justin Blaylock
Chris Houston
Laurent Robinson
Stephen Nicholas
Martez Milner
David Irons
Doug Datish
Daren Stone

Baltimore Ravens-B
Ben Grubbs
Yamon Figurs
Marshal Yanda
Antwan Barnes
Le'Ron McClain
Troy Smith
Prescott Burgess

Buffalo Bills-B
Marshawn Lynch
Paul Posluszny
Dwayne Wright
Trent Edwards
John Wendling
Derek Schouman

Carolina Panthers-A-
Jon Beason
Dwayne Jarrett
Ryan Kalil
Charles Johnson
Ryne Robinson
Dante Rosario
Tim Shaw
C.J. The questions are: What will the Detroit Lions do at #2? Will they draft Calvin Johnson , Joe Thomas or Gaines Adams, or will they trade back to take Laron Landry or Gaines Adams. It was rumored the Detroit Lions will draft Calvin Johnson, who most experts consider the best player in the draft, and trade him. If that is true, what will the Cleveland Browns do with the third pick, draft Adrian Peterson or draft Brady Quinn? Brady Quinn seems to be the best senario. He is a fan favorite being born and raised in Ohio, and he would fill a need for them at the quarterback position. I believe that they will draft Quinn. After signing Jamal Lewis in the off season, Cleveland would not need to draft a running back so early. But when it comes to Adrian Peterson, where will he go? Tampa Bay with pick #4 does not need a running back, netiher does Arizona or Washington at 5 & 6. Some believe Adrian Peterson is a future Hall of Famer being compared to Gale Sayers. With Minnesota dedicating so much money on Chester Taylor, will they be willing to past on greatness or fill a need at safety if Laron Landry falls to them. If so, Houston at pick #10 would not pass on greatness twice. Passing on Reggie Bush in last years draft, the Texans would be the league laughing stock once again if they were to pass on Peterson. With teams taking the best available players left on the board in the first round, there are players that will fall in the second and third round that could contribute right away and may even start contributing next season. Here are the projections for the first day of the NFL Draft April 28th, with the second day projections to follow later.

Mock Draft is likely to change due to trades that may occur within the next 24 hours. Based on teams drafting players to fill a need or taking the best available player on the board.
NFL MOCK DRAFT

Don't be surprised if Brady Quinn is the #1 pick by tomorrow. The Washington Post is reporting the Oakland Raiders are negotiating a contract with Quinn to have him signed before the draft.
